Windbach originates west of the village of Hausen-uber-Aar. It flows east, crosses the federal highway B 54 and flows into the Ar river. In the upper and middle reaches, the stream flows through a deep ravine. This ravine was formed as a result of soil erosion , which was facilitated by intensive deforestation in the XVII-XVIII centuries [1] .
