Formed on the territory of the Schalkham community at the confluence of two rivers - Grose- Vils ( Große Vils ) and Kleine- Vils ( Kleine Vils ) [2] . In the description of his characteristics, Fils is sometimes considered together with Filskanal and Grosse-Fils [1] . Then the total length of the river is 127.54 km, the basin area is 1449.02 km² [1] .
