This is a five-seater family car with a sportier image than its competitors. The car is created on the platform A5 (PQ35) from VAG . Of the design features worth noting wipers with "vertical parking" (hiding in the front racks).
The car received five stars for safety in the Euro NCAP rating. Available in six basic configurations: Essence, Reference, Reference Sport, Stylance, Sport and FR. There is also a wide choice of petrol and diesel engines with four transmission options - manual five and six-speed, five-speed automatic tiptronic and six-speed automatic DSG. In addition, the car won several awards for design and appearance.
An enlarged version of the car, the Altea XL was first shown at the 2006 Paris Motor Show . In 2007, the Altea Freetrack model appeared with all wheel drive and increased suspension height. In 2015, the car was discontinued. [one]
