The source of the river is located on the territory of the natural park Frau-Holle-Land (until January 2017, it was called Meißner-Kaufunger Wald).
Loss falls into Fulda near the city of Kassel . At the confluence of the rivers, there is the Fuldaaue bei Kassel park, which inhabits about 111 bird species. In 2011, the park was given the status of an ornithological reserve [1] .
