Gelsbach originates in the Gantslin commune area. Flows westward through the fields of the communes Buchberg and Karbov-Fitlyubbe . Falls into Elda in the area of the Ziggelkov commune.
In 1996, the Gelsbachtal conservation area was established in the Gelsbach valley.
