Elsawa is formed on the territory of Mespelbrunn . In the upper reaches of the river is called Kaltenbach ( Kaltenbach ), river index 24752 [1] . The river basin area is 157.75 km² [1] . The total length of the river is 27.32 km [1] . The height of the source is 355 m [2] . The height of the mouth is 116 m [3] .

Attractions
The picturesque castle of Mespelbrunn is surrounded by a moat in the valley of Elzawa. The castle was built in the XV century, acquired its modern look in the XVI century. Because of the remoteness during the numerous wars almost did not suffer. Up to 100 thousand tourists visit it annually.
