The evil doctor Kaliko (aka Green-eyed), the leader of the criminals, captured the girl Penny and her dog Volta , who tried to save Penny's father, a brilliant scientist who the whole criminal world is hunting for. Penny's father, with the help of his developments, endowed Volta with superpowers that protect Penny from villains. In some incredible way, Kaliko’s people managed to put on special masks on Penny and Volta that didn’t allow their mouths to be opened, and they both put them in a special alloy body, in which it was impossible to even move. Because of this, Volt was unable to use his ultrasonic superhawk , which allows to destroy entire buildings.

The villains placed Volta and Penny in a fortified fortress on an island far in the ocean, into which neither man nor dog can penetrate. Kaliko decided to brutally crack down on the girl and the dog because they prevented the implementation of his villainous plans, because of which he missed the professor. The Green-eyed has a holiday and nothing will stop him from carrying out his plan.

Penny's father mounted a miniature video camera and microphone into Volta’s collar, so in his laboratory he sees and hears everything that is happening at the moment in the Kaliko fortress. Only a few minutes remained with Penny and Volta, and he cannot help them. A brilliant idea was born in the head of a scientist. He gives the superpowers the Reno hamster constantly hanging in front of the TV, like Volta once, and sends him to the fortified island.

Reno in his invariable transparent ball crashes at the speed of a meteor into the surface of the island, making a huge funnel. At this time, a battle is heard outside the fortress, incoherent radio talks of militants, imprints of military equipment pressed from the outside appear on the inner surface of the metal dome of the fortress. This Reno neutralized the outer ring of the island’s security, reinforced by special forces, armored vehicles and aircraft.

A harmless-looking hamster with a laser gaze burned through a thick-walled dome and, bursting inside, defeated villains with mobile rocket launchers , having managed to save Volta and Penny from death along the way. And the green-eyed doctor Kaliko experienced on himself and on his beloved cat the action of Rino's ultrasonic superlist , while remaining in tatters from expensive clothes, without external hair, and in a slightly tanned look.

After receiving the words of gratitude to Penny and barking thanks to Volta, Reno sets off "on business" and is already on stage with a microphone in his paws. Now he is a pop star, the owner of a large number of fans, performs his popular song. During the performance, he suddenly ends up at night on Penny’s bed next to the cat Mitten, who asks Reno not to sing at such a late hour. In fact, Reno, Mitten, Volt and Penny are in the country house of Penny and her mother, and the action movie, which is quite suitable for the evening show "Volt", Reno's favorite show, was just a dream. Reno flips to the other side and sees a new dream. He, a superhero, receives a secret mission to save the moon personally from the US president .

Cartoon Story

During the creation of the Volt animated film, lead producer John Lasseter turned to observer Nathan Grenaud and his team to come up with a short film for a DVD. Greno proposed endowing Reno with superpowers, like Volta. I liked the idea, and Nathan Greno became the author of the script and director of the cartoon “Super Reno” as the author of the idea itself [2] . In a busy schedule, “Super Reno” was created for about four months . Filming was completed before the film “ Volt ” was completed [3] .

Interesting Facts

  • On stage, Reno sings the song " The Best of Both Worlds ", which is sung by Miley Cyrus , the lead singer in the series " Hannah Montana " and voiced by Penny in the movie "Volt".
  • Director Nathan Greno has a cat named Reno [4] .
  • John Travolta did not voice Volta here, as he only barked once.
  • According to the plot of the film "Volt", animals could not communicate with people in human language. But in the Super Rino film, Rino understands what the TV presenter says on television about excess calories, communicates with Calico and Penny in the fortress, with the US president in the Oval Office .
