The company was founded in 1998, the first optics salon opened in November on Nikolskaya Street, the site of one of the oldest Moscow optics salons - the former Optics No. 1. As of January 2012, there are 90 active Lensmaster stores in various cities throughout Russia; Since 2004, the Lensmaster has been operating with its own branches in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Delivery of orders is carried out throughout Russia.
In 2010, the Moscow Department of the Federal Antimonopoly Service acknowledged the inappropriate advertising of Lensmaster, which promises customers “second glasses for free” and issued an order to eliminate violations. The agency stated that by its outdoor advertising the company violated the federal law “On Advertising” because it did not indicate information about the conditions of the campaign (Article 5, Part 7) and the advertising message did not contain information about the timing of the event and did not provide information about the organizer of the event (art. 9, p. 1,2) [1] .
