John (Jean) II of Cyprus or John III [1] or Jean II de Lusignan ( fr. Jean II de Lusignan ; May 16, 1418 , Nicosia - July 28, 1458 , Nicosia ) - King of Jerusalem , Cyprus and Cilician Armenia (of the three kingdoms included in its title, really ruled only Cyprus), as well as the titular prince of Antioch from 1432 , one of the representatives of the de Lusignan dynasty originating from Poitou (France).

Biography
Son of King Janus and Charlotte de Bourbon ( 1388 - January 15, 1422 ).
Jean got rid of the conquest of the island by the Turks only thanks to Pope Eugene , who supplied him with the money earned from the sale of indulgences .
He was forced to give up the region of Arsa for his fatherly debts to the Rhodes joannites .
After his death, his daughter Charlotte, who was previously married to the Portuguese Infant John , was proclaimed his heiress. John was the last king of Cyprus from the house of the Lusignans . After the death of his illegitimate son Jacob, who took control of the throne, in 1460 and died in 1473, Cyprus passed into the possession of the Venetians .

From his second wife he had an heiress Charlotte ( June 28, 1444 - July 16, 1487 , Rome ), the Queen of Cyprus (1458-1460), who was married twice in 1456 to the Infant John of Portugal , Count of Coimbra ( 1433 - killed 1457 ); the second time on October 4, 1459 for Louis of Savoy ( June 5, 1436 - August 1482 ). The second daughter of Jean II Cleopha (Cleopha), died young.
From Marietta de Patras, he had the illegitimate son Jacques (c. 1438/1439 , Nicosia - July 10, 1473 , Famagusta ), the last king of Cyprus Jacob of Cyprus "Bastard" ( 1460 - 1473 ), who inherited his half-sister Charlotte. Married to Katerina Kornaro ( November 25, 1454 - July 10, 1510 )
