Content
Geography
The village is located on the right bank of the Kenghi River, just above its confluence with the Sharoargun , 7 km north-east of the regional center of Khimoy .
The nearest settlements: in the south-east - the villages of Buti and Kenkhi , in the south-west - the village of Khimoy , in the north-east - the village of Buni [4] .
Etymology
In the Chechen language, Khierie means “rock”. Kiroi is one of the Chechen types (clans). The original village is the village of Kiri.
History
In 1944 , after the deportation of Chechens and Ingush and the liquidation of the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, the village of Kiri was renamed Kirovaul and settled by immigrants from neighboring Dagestan . After the restoration of the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in 1957, the village was returned to its former name Kiri, and the Dagestanis were resettled back to Dagestan .
