Ukrainian labor army

The Ukrainian Labor Army is a labor army created on January 21, 1920, in accordance with the approved position of the SNK and the All-Ukrainian Revolutionary Committee on the Ukrainian Council of the Labor Army (the original name proposed by JV Stalin is the Military Labor Council for Ukraine ). The special representative of the Defense Council, JV Stalin (hereinafter referred to as Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars of the Ukrainian SSR Kh. G. Rakovsky ) becomes the head. The army commander is appointed a member of the RVS of the South-Western Front, R. I. Berzin .

Due to the extremely unfavorable situation on the fronts, its formation was actually started only in May 1920 from parts of low combat readiness . On June 1, 1920, it numbered 20,705 people — three labor brigades that included eight labor regiments. Parts of brigades and small support units were concentrated in the Donbass and also scattered throughout the Poltava , Kiev , Yekaterinoslav , and Odessa provinces [1] [2] .
