Geography
The district was located on the territory of the Gelendzhik Resort City municipality.
History
- Gelendzhik district was formed on January 26, 1923 as part of the Black Sea District of the Kuban-Black Sea Region . Initially, the district included 4 village councils: Arkhipo-Osipovsky , Gelendzhik , Kabardinsky , Pshadsky .
- From June 2, 1924, the district was part of the Southeast Region , from November 16, 1924 - as part of the North Caucasus Territory , and from January 10, 1934 - as part of the Azov-Black Sea Territory .
- From May 21, 1935 to April 16, 1940, the district included part of the territory of the abolished Tuapse district .
- Since September 13, 1937, the Gelendzhik district as part of the Krasnodar Territory .
- On February 11, 1963, the Gelendzhik district was abolished, part of the district was directly subordinated to the city of Gelendzhik , the other part became part of the Tuapse district .
