History
It was founded in 1964 .
In 1967, it became an independent enterprise, since the tanker department of the Black Sea Shipping Company was separated on January 20, 1967. And the fleet switched to the Novorossiysk Shipping Company, founded in 1964, with the aim of effectively managing the operation of the oil fleet and ports in the Black Sea basin, eliminating multi-stage management of the fleet and more expeditious solution of transportation issues by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and other interested organizations. In mid-June 2007, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the formation of a new company on the basis of Sovcomflot and Novoship. Company ships incidents
On May 5, 2010, Somali pirates in the Gulf of Aden captured the Moscow University tanker belonging to the Novoship, which was flying the Liberian flag. On board the ship, which was sailing from the Red Sea to China , was 86 thousand tons of oil. Earlier, in April 2009, the Novoship tanker NS Commander was also attacked by Somali pirates, but the attack was repelled.
