Biography
Born March 1 (14), 1914 at the Debaltseve station in a working class family. In 1916, the family moved to the village of Golubovka, Yekaterinoslav province (now an urban-type settlement Komissarovka in the Perevalsky district of the Luhansk region of Ukraine ). Having received an incomplete secondary education, he worked as a mechanic, assistant locomotive driver at Debaltseve station. In 1934, after completing the pedagogical courses, he worked as a teacher in the Lugansk boarding school. Drafted into the Red Army in 1936 .
In 1937 he graduated from the Yeisk Naval School.
He participated in the Soviet-Finnish War (1939-1940) . During which shooter-bomber Algazin made 47 sorties, for which he was awarded the Order of the Red Star. Since July 1941, a participant in the Great Patriotic War . He made the first Soviet bomber raids on Berlin (August 1941) and other important targets behind enemy lines. By September 1943, Algazin made 195 sorties.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of September 18, 1943, for the exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the struggle against Nazi invaders and the courage and heroism shown at the same time, guards Captain Alexander Kuzmich Algazin was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Gold Medal The Star ” (No. 1727).
After the war, he continued to serve in the Air Force. In 1947 he graduated from advanced training courses for officers. Since 1954, Lt. Col. A.K. Algazin is in stock.
He lived in the city of Priluki in the Chernihiv region of Ukraine . He died on April 23, 1985 [4] . In his honor, one of the city streets was named in Priluki. In the military town a bust of the hero is set.
