Mooring to the wall: 3 and 4 - spring ends, or springs
Spring ( niderl. Spring ) - a cable brought into the bracket of the anchor anchor or taken as an anchor-chain, the other end held aft to hold the ship (vessel) in a given position. In the sailing fleet, it was launched for the most efficient use of airborne artillery at anchor.
Also - moorings filed from the bow and laid in the stern area, or vice versa, filed from the stern to the bow area, to keep the ship in a predetermined position.
As the name implies ( spring - Russian spring ), spring springs up and absorbs βwalksβ - the oscillatory movements of the ship, which are not compensated by other means. This allows you to hold the ship at a given angle to the wind, current, berth and so on.
