Christina Metaxa was chosen by the public of Cyprus on February 7, 2009 with the song “Firefly” ( “Firefly” ) to represent her country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow , Russia . She reached the second semi-final, but could not reach the final, taking the 14th place in the semi-final, gaining 32 points, of which she received 12 points from Greece.
On May 30, 2010, Christina announced the results from Cyprus in a teleconference from Oslo ( Telenor Arena , a suburb of Berum ), where 8 points were assigned to Romania, 10 points to Azerbaijan, and 12 points to Greece.
Brother Christina, singer Nicholas Metaxas (b. 1988) became the second in the Greek version of the TV show X Factor . He is the creator and composer of Christina's performance at Eurovision.
