Geography

The village is located on the ridge Kozhdzh-Duk [5] , 17 km south-west of the regional center Nozhai-Yurt and 73 km southeast of the city of Grozny .

Nearest villages: in the north - the village of Gansolchu , in the northeast - the villages of Isai-Yurt and Turty-Khutor , in the southeast - the villages of Sayasan and Maxi-Khutor , in the south - the villages of Gordal and Bas-Gordal , in the south-west the village of Khashki-Mokhk and in the north-west - the village of Small Shuani [6] .

History

In 1944, after the deportation of Chechens and Ingush , and the abolition of the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, the village of Shuani was renamed the village of Bolshaya Shagada and settled by immigrants from neighboring Dagestan [7] .

After the restoration of the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic , in 1958, the village was returned to its former name - Shuani.
