Asinu Church in Nikitari
The population is 426 people ( 2001 ). Asinu Church , built in the 12th century, is 5 km from Nikitari. The church is an example of wall painting of Byzantine culture included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in Europe . The key to the church is kept by the village priest.
The warm climate and beautiful landscape contribute to the development of tourism. A hotel has been built in the village for tourists.
