Church of St. Michael in Pedoulas
Pedoulas ( Greek Πεδουλάς ) is a village in Cyprus , in the Nicosia region , located 4 km south of the village of Mutullas .
Located at an altitude of 1097 meters above sea level - the main settlement of the Marafas valley. In the village is the Church of St. Michael the Archangel , built in 1474 , listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site . A few meters from the church is the Byzantine Art Museum of the village of Pedulas. The population is 191 people. Pedoulas is a popular holiday destination: beautiful landscapes, especially in May, attract tourists from other countries. The main income of residents comes from the sale of sweet cherries, the cultivation of which forms the basis of the village’s agriculture.
