Meskhidze, Nana Archilovna

Nana (Nanuli) Archilovna Meskhidze ( March 13, 1936 - August 31, 1997 ) - Honored Artist ( Painting ) of Georgia , teacher . Belongs to the galaxy of Soviet artists of the 60s of the twentieth century. She took part in all-Union and foreign exhibitions.

Biography

Born March 13, 1936 in Tbilisi , Georgia. Parents: conductor of Georgian folklore groups, honored teacher Archil Meskhidze (1912-1999) and theater actress named after Kote Marjanishvili , director Aniko Avlohashvili (1917-1994). The desire for art was revealed in early childhood - until the last classes of high school she was passionate about classical music, but in the end, art took over.

In 1944-1952 studied at the Tbilisi Zhensk secondary school №23 named after Ilya Chavchavadze .

In 1953, after high school, she entered the Tbilisi Art College. Yakova Nikoladze , after which in 1957 she immediately passed the exams at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts (the teacher at the faculty of painting is Ucha Japaridze).

In 1963, she graduated with honors from the Academy (thesis - “Our Courtyard”) and after that she took up creative activity.

In 1965, she became a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR , and in 1977 she was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Georgian SSR .

The paintings by Nana Meskhidze are kept in state galleries in Georgia and the Russian Federation .

She died on August 31, 1997 in Tbilisi.
