Another bronze medal was won at the 2008 World Championships . The 2008 Olympic Games were unsuccessful for John; he could not reach the final of the competition.
In 2009, with a score of 2.29 m, he won the silver medal at the European Indoor Championship , which was held in Turin . Another world championship silver medal was won in Berlin .
At its third Olympiad took 13th place. In 2014, he won silver at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow , settling down in the final protocol for the Canadian Derek Drouhen [1] .
