Yakelen was a pastor at Stockholm and Lund dioceses , and was also a professor at the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago , USA . On October 17, 2006, she was elected Bishop. She was ordained a bishop in Uppsala Cathedral on April 15, 2007. In accepting the rank of bishop, she chose the motto: “Great is the Lord,” taken from 1 John 3: 18–20. Her husband, Heinz Yakelen, is also a pastor and they have two daughters.
Antje Yakelen was one of the ministers at the wedding ceremony for Crown Princess Victoria and Daniel Westling , which took place on June 19, 2010 at the Stockholm Cathedral .
On October 15, 2013, she was elected Archbishop of Uppsala and Head of the Church of Sweden [1] .
She is married and has two children [1] .
