Biography
Born in the family of an employee. Jew . Member of the CPSU since 1944. He graduated from high school. In the Red Army since 1937. He studied at the Military Engineering Academy .
At the front in World War II from June 1941. On October 19, 1943, during the crossing of the Dnieper in the Dnipropetrovsk region, he quickly ensured the crossing of artillery, units and divisions of the division with improvised means, which contributed to the capture and retention of the bridgehead on the right bank of the river and the liberation of Dnepropetrovsk. The title of Hero of the Soviet Union was awarded on November 1, 1943.
In 1946 he graduated from the Military Engineering Academy. He lived in Moscow, was a teacher at the Military Academy named after M.V. Frunze. Since 1974 - in stock. Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of VTUZ at the Likhachev Automobile Plant . He was buried at the Vagankovsky cemetery in Moscow.
Awards
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of November 1, 1943, for the exemplary performance of command missions on the front of the struggle against Nazi invaders and the courage and heroism shown to this, Captain Ruvinsky Veniamin Abramovich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal (No. 1957).
He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree (03/11/1985), 2 orders of the Red Star (06/17/1944; 04/30/1954), the medal "For Military Merit" (11/10/1947), and other medals.
Memory
The name of the Hero of the Soviet Union V. A. Ruvinsky is immortalized on the stele of Heroes, installed on the Glory Square in the city of Cherkasy.
