Masahisa Fukase ( Japanese 深 瀬 昌 久 ; February 25, 1934 , Bifuka - June 9, 2012 ) is a prominent Japanese photographer. In the works of the mature period, performed mainly in a dark tone and introspective in content, the themes of loneliness and the breakup of the family come to the fore, a tendency to blur, generalize images and abstractions is noticeable. Of the photo albums, the most famous is the cycle of works by “The Crows” (鴉, The Solitude of Ravens), as well as individual works that paint pictures of alienation and disunity. After an incident that happened to Fukase in 1992 in the Shinjuku district of Tokyo, when he was drunk, he fell down the stairs and received a serious brain injury (concussion) and became practically incapable.
