Shenyang University ( Chinese 沈 阳 理工 大学 ) is a university in Shenyang , Liaoning Province, China . It is managed by the provincial authorities.

The university campus is located in the new Hunnan district, its squares also have a scientific and technical park, laboratories. The total area is 1,220,000 m², the area under the buildings is 433,000 m². The university campus is located on the south bank of the Hunhe River.

Learning Process
Currently, 32 131 students are studying at the university [1] . The educational process is provided by about 3,500 people, among them 1,500 people - this is the teaching staff. The university has 5 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences .
University History
The history of Shenyang Polytechnic University begins in 1948 , when the specialized Northeastern Military Institute was founded. In 1960, based on the combination of several institutes, the Shenyang Institute of Technology was founded. In 1999, the institute became directly subordinate to the authorities of Liaoning Province. In May 2004, the PRC Ministry of Education approved the creation of the Shenyang Polytechnic University.

In addition, the university has one of the largest libraries in the province, as well as the Museum of Arms and Military Equipment. Own newspaper “The Bulletin of the Shenyang Polytechnic University” is published [2] .
Foreign partners
The university cooperates with more than 20 foreign universities from the USA , Canada , Great Britain , Germany , Japan , the Netherlands , Russia , Ukraine , as well as a large number of research institutions. Various training programs have been signed and are being implemented.
In May 2010, the Shenyang Polytechnic University, on the basis of the Institute of Foreign Languages, opened the Russian Language Center named after A. S. Pushkin [3] . Tomsk State University became the partner university of the project from the Russian side.
Attractions
Two monuments were unveiled on the university campus - Lao Tzu and Confucius (the opening ceremony was held in July 2011). In 2011, a monument to Chinese astronautics was opened in the form of a giant rocket. In addition, in the territory adjacent to the Institute of Defense Technologies, there is an exposition of military equipment, including a monument to the legendary Soviet tank T-34 .
