Content
History
The club was founded in 1988 as the football section of Tohoku Electric, and in 1999, under the name Vegalta Sendai, joined the professional J-League football.
The name of the club consists of the names of the stars Vega and Altair , the “main characters” of the famous Japanese holiday Tanabata . The largest festival in Japan dedicated to this holiday is held in Sendai every year.
