Biography

Born in 1971 in Jerusalem, Israel, in the family of the future rabbi of the Chabad community of Beitar-Ilit, Israel, rabbi Asher Lemel Cohen.

From the age of 4, he began training at a cheder (elementary religious school for boys) in Jerusalem.

At the age of 12, he continued his studies at the yeshiva (the highest religious educational institution) “Torat Emet Habad Lubavich” - graduated in 1986.

At the age of 15, Rabbi Kogen entered the Yeshiva Chabad Lubavitch Manchester in Great Britain - graduated in 1989.

From the age of 18, he studied for three years in the yeshiva “Tomhey Tamimim Chabad Lubavitch New York” in the USA , where in 1992 he received a rabbi diploma.

Since 1993 - Assistant to the Chief Rabbi of St. Petersburg ( Russia ).

In 1994, at the request of the Jewish community of Kazakhstan, received by the Chabid association “Chabad Lubavich in the CIS,” Rabbi Kogen came to Kazakhstan to lead the community and establish a full-fledged religious life.
