Biography
Akmal Gilfanovich Vakhitov was born on May 15, 1900 in the village of Shigaevo, Kazan province.
Education - primary. He began to work in 1914 as a cab driver at the Tula Arms Plant. In the years 1916-1917. He worked as a tartalshikom oil fields in the Caucasus. In 1918, drafted into the ranks of the Red Army. He fought in the 26th Division of the 5th Army of the Eastern Front, participated in the Civil War.
From 1923 he worked as a drilling worker, a brakeman, a driller’s assistant, a driller, a key-keeper, a master at the Starogrozneft trust (Grozny), from 1937 - a key-keeper, a master, a senior master of underground repair of the wells of the Ishimbayneft trust of the Bashkir ASSR .
The team of underground repair of wells under the leadership of A. G. Vakhitova has always worked well and smoothly, annually overfulfilled the planned tasks with high quality. In 1946, the production rate for the repair of wells in the brigade was 132 percent, in 1947 - 131.3 percent.
On the recommendation of A. G. Vakhitov, over 20 rationalization proposals were introduced into production. Among them is the method of determining water entry points in the production casing of the well by collecting oil deep samples, installing a shoe in the casing of the well against air escape into the reservoir using a compressor method of oil production, making a device for extracting a broken plunger from the well without lifting it, developing the machine for grinding worn pump ball valves. These rationalization proposals helped to significantly improve the process of oil production and facilitated the work of underground well repair workers, saving hundreds of thousands of rubles.
During the period of work in the trust A. G. Vakhitov taught 28 people to the professions of underground repair of oil wells.
For outstanding achievements in increasing oil production, exploration of new oil fields and oil drilling by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated May 8, 1948, A. G. Vakhitov was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor.
He worked in the Ishimbayneft trust until 1957. He died on November 21, 1957.

Memory
In Ishimbay, Vakhitov's hometown, Vakhitov Street is named after him.
