Career

Club

Pupil of Donetsk " Miner ". In the spring of 2008, he was transferred to Shakhtar-3 . In the Second League, he made his debut on April 3, 2008 in the match against Lugansk “ Kommunalnik ” (1: 2), in this match Bogdan scored one of the goals. In the 2008/09 season, together with the double, Shakhtar became the winner of the youth championship of Ukraine [2] . In the summer of 2010, he went on loan to Volyn Lutsk [3] , for which he played 27 matches in the 2010/11 season and scored 3 goals in the Ukrainian Premier League , as well as 1 match in the Ukrainian Cup . In June 2011, Butko also went on loan to Mariupol Illichivets [4] , which also included 27 matches in the 2011/12 season (1 goal) and 1 game in the Ukrainian Cup. Butko began preparations for the 2012/13 season after the end of Euro 2012 , in which the defender played in one of the matches in the Mariupol club [5] . In January 2015, he moved to Perm Amkar on loan until the end of the season. In the summer of 2015, Amkar agreed with Shakhtar to extend Butko's lease for one season. In 2016, he returned to his native Shakhtar. After the disqualification of the Pitmen's captain Dario Srna, he played the main right-back.

Team

In the youth national team of Ukraine under 17 he made his debut on November 14, 2006 in a match against the Netherlands (0: 0). In total, he played 21 matches for the national team under 17 years old.

In the youth team under 19 he made his debut on January 5, 2009 in the match against Belgium (0: 0). Butko was included by Yuri Kalitvintsev in the national team for the 2009 European Championships in Donetsk and Mariupol [6] . He played only 2 matches in the group stage against Slovenia (0: 0) [7] and England (2: 2) [8] , due to the injury [9] . In the final, Ukraine beat England (0: 2) [10] .

In the national team, he played the first match at 20, on September 2, 2011, having played all 90 minutes in sparring with Uruguay , the fifth team in the world ranking at that time. Oleg Blokhin, the head coach of the national team, commented on his game: “I really liked Butko’s debut, he, in my opinion, was less worried about me. It’s on such guys that we will build the game. ”

In May 2016, the head coach of the Ukrainian national team, Mikhail Fomenko, included Butko in a backup application for the European Championship 2016 [11] .
