QsNet

QsNet is a Quadrics communications environment with SCI latency and bandwidth of up to 900 megabytes / sec (QsNet II). Due to the high cost of equipment, QsNet, as a rule, is used to build particularly large teraflop clusters .

Features

  • Throughput: at the MPI level of about 900 MB / s.
  • Delay Time: 3 μs.
  • Topology: Fat Tree . The architecture supports up to 1024 nodes (QsNet) and up to 4096 nodes (QsNet II).
  • GNU / Linux software is distributed with source code under the GNU GPL and supports MPI (the specialized version of MPICH) and TCP / IP .

Below are the most commonly used types of communications for supercomputers and their main characteristics.
