Biography

Carlos Adrian Valdez began his career in 2001 at Nacional. In 2005—2007 was leased in the Italian club "Treviso", after which the rights to a football player bought "Regina", where he is currently performing.

In 2005, he played the first match for the main Uruguay national team against Galicia , but this match is not considered official. Since 2006, Valdez has been called to the Uruguay national team. He took part in the America's Cup 2007 and in the qualifying tournament for the 2010 World Cup .

In 2010, he was loaned to Siena, and since February 2011, he stands for Penarol, also on loan. In the first 10 matches for the new club, he earned 5 yellow cards and scored an own goal in the game against LDU Quito within the group stage of the Libertadores Cup 2011 , in which Penarol lost with a score of 0: 5. However, the team eventually managed to reach the 1/8 finals from second place in the group. As a result, “aurenegros” reached the final of the tournament, which has not happened to Uruguayan clubs since 1988, and Penarol himself played for the last time in the final of the main continental tournament of South America in 1987. In all matches, Carlos Valdez was one of the key players in the Penarol defense line. At the end of 2011, Carlos Valdez was selected by journalists as the best Uruguayan footballer from among those who play in the domestic championship.
