Performances of GOFF-Company

  • wheel

60 minutes of Mandelstam Vanguard

... Oh, where are you, holy islands,
where they don’t eat broken bread,
where only honey, wine and milk.
creaky labor does not offend Heaven,
and the wheel spins easily.

From sherry brandy to lantern fish oil, from Jewish prayer to Russian crying in Soviet night, time-space extends in which the hero of the play Osip Mandelstam exists.

  • Harry songs

text-sound-fusion for actor and musicians

Harry Martinson is a poet, a Nobel laureate in the field of literature, peacefully and with fiction leads a conversation with his friends. Around the hospitable host gather kindred poets. There is only one condition: each comes with his own character and a verbalom embedded in his mouth. The only "rebellious" is the chansonnier, who inappropriately gets into lyrical dialogues.

The performance uses poems by Harry Martinson, Semyon Kirsanov , Osip Mandelstam, Alexander Chuck , Langston Hughes , Joseph Brodsky , Jacques Brel , Alexander Pushkin , Carpenter and others.

  • Speech by the Chief Prosecutor

based on the novel by V. Sorokin "Norma"

Who is Marcel Duchamp ?
What does a white urinal in an empty showroom mean?
What destructive role for state building can cultural studies play, especially if they are related to the art of avant-garde?

The State Prosecutor raises these questions with all the acuteness and principle, he is opposed, of course, by the Lawyer. Everything would be in order, if the first did not sometimes seem a little strange, and the second would not have as arguments nothing but a musical instrument.

  • Rozanov vs Gogol

neo-academic investigation

The production is not just a continuation of the experiment begun in 2007: a dialogue between avant-garde musicians and an actor. This is a pretty radical shift towards the text. The actor’s figure is washed off, the hero becomes supra-theatrical, the character is the text and music itself, or rather instruments. The function of musicians - usually quite abstract - is concretized. Victor Erofeev ’s essay “Rozanov against Gogol” makes it possible to implement a furious trialogue: crushing Rozanov (drums) - laughing (mocking?) Gogol (saxophone) - text-writer (Erofeev?). This experiment is rare, because the task is not to convey the essayist’s thoughts to the public, but to create a dense non-discharged space: the verbal meaning, like the meaning of the sound-musical series, is destroyed and created anew continuously.
