Biography

Valentin Lukyanov was born on June 20, 1947 in the city of Akmolinsk, Kazakh SSR [1] . Later he moved with his family to the city of Okhu [2] on the island of Sakhalin [1] . In early 1966, after graduating from a construction college, Valentin Lukyanov moved to Primorsky Krai [1] . As a young specialist, he was sent to the village of Pacific (now the city of Fokino), 25 km from the city of Bolshoi Kamen . He worked as a foreman and foreman in the construction of military facilities [1] . He studied in absentia at the Far Eastern State University in Vladivostok , where he studied his favorite mathematics [1] .

In 1969, he moved to Ukraine with his wife [1] . He lived first in the city of Kamenetz-Podolsky , where he worked as an engineer, then deputy manager of the Kamenetz-Podolsky building trust [2] . Later he moved to Khmelnitsky , held the post of manager of the Khmelnitsky Regional Construction Trust [1] [2] . Workload did not allow him to actively engage in chess. The ongoing restructuring led to the redistribution of state property by criminal elements. An attempt to resist them led to his physical elimination [1] . Valentin Vladimirovich Lukyanov died on June 25, 1995 in the city of Khmelnitsky [1] .

Creative Way

Valentin Lukyanov gained fame as a leading composer of two-way problems [3] . He made his first chess task in 1963, when he lived on Sakhalin [1] . Communication with the seaside composer Talip Amirov had a great influence on his formation as one of the specialists of the two-way genre . Together they studied chess problems and jointly investigated the subtleties of the themes of modern composition. Valentin Lukyanov sometimes with extraordinary ease found new mechanisms in a two-way problem [1] .

After moving to Ukraine, Lukyanov continued his studies of the chess composition [1] . In 1980, he was awarded the title of Master of Sports of the USSR . In 1993, he became an international master in chess composition . Most of his published two-run trials won distinctions at compilation contests. His tasks are included in the anthology of chess composition, they are placed in articles on the theory of modern two-way [1] .

Six-time finalist of the USSR personal championships in the two-run section: 9th championship (1969) - 8th place, 12th (1976) - 2nd, 13th (1981) - 6th, 14th (1983) - 3rd, 16th (1985) - 4-5th, 17th (1987) - 15th. Winner of the 2nd World Championship (1980-1983) in the USSR national team.
