Biography
Born in Revel on October 13, 1830 in the family of a Lutheran pastor.
In 1853 he graduated from the St. Petersburg Main Pedagogical Institute and was sent to the Grodno Gymnasium , a senior geography teacher [1] .
Reitlinger was sent to the Taganrog gymnasium from the small county town Mozyr of the Minsk province, where since 1872 he had been the director of the gymnasium; On July 21, 1873, by order of the Ministry of Education, the State Councilor Reutlinger was approved as the director of the male gymnasium in Taganrog. At the same time he taught history and Latin.
With the rank of current state adviser - since December 26, 1877. He was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir 3rd art. (1874), St. Anne , 2nd art. (1871), St. Stanislav 2nd art. (1868) [2] .
Under Reutlinger, many gifted teachers were recruited to serve in the gymnasium; a gymnasium church was organized, the headman of which for some time was the brother of the composer I.I. Tchaikovsky . In 1878, Gymnasium Boulevard [3] was laid on a free site near the gymnasium in Kampenhausen Lane.
In the years 1884-1889, Reutlinger was an inspector of students at Kiev University of St. Vladimir . In 1889, due to illness, retired.
E.R. Reutlinger died on November 11, 1903 in Kiev; buried at the Lukyanovsky cemetery .
