Biography

A.F. Khryakov was born on August 1 ( August 14 ), 1903 in St. Petersburg . He studied at the Faculty of Architecture of VKhUTEIN ( LVHTI , former Academy of Arts) in 1922−1928. Among the teachers: A. E. Belogrud , L. N. Benoit , L. V. Rudnev , S. S. Serafimov , I. A. Fomin , V. A. Schuko , V. G. Gelfreich . Thesis - "Institute of Physical Culture on Krestovsky Island" and the scientific work - "Neva River Embankment" defended December 1, 1928.

Many projects were created by him together with his wife Zoya Osipovna (Iosifovna) Brod (1907-1972; graduated from LVHTI in 1930).

Corresponding Member of the Academy of Architecture of the USSR.

In 1967-1974 he led the Architectural and Design Studio of Mosproject No. 4.

A.F. Khryakov died on April 23, 1976 . He was buried in Moscow at the Kuntsevsky cemetery .

  • Children's Musical Theater of the Gosnardom (1933; together with A.P. Velikanov , L.M. Polyakov ; implemented);
  • Red Theater in the garden of the Gosnardom (1933; together with A.P. Velikanov , L.M. Polyakov , competition);
  • American Mountains - an attraction in the garden of the Gosnardom (1932-1933, together with A.P. Velikanov , L.M. Polyakov , engineer P.V. Startsev; opened in May 1934, burned down on October 16, 1941);
  • Palace of Soviets in Moscow (1933, co-authored with V. A. Shchuko, V. G. Gelfreykh - leaders; P. V. Abrosimov , A. P. Velikanov , L. M. Polyakov , I. E. Rozhin , G. V. Selyugin, E.N. Selyakova-Shukhaeva, G.V. Schuko (Yuri) and others).

A.F. Khryakov moved to Moscow in 1933 among the designers of the Palace of Soviets , headed by V. A. Schuko and V. G. Gelfreich.

He worked in the Construction Department of the Palace of Soviets and at the same time in the 3rd workshop of the Moscow City Council.
