Program Description

The television program uses images of famous people in a cartoon incarnation [3] . As a rule, one plot with the participation of several characters lasts 3-4 minutes. In the plots, well-known events or characteristic features of celebrity behavior are played up.

Special plots, which are musical parody numbers, were included in the “ New Year's Eve on Channel One ” (2009-2010, 2010—2011, 2011—2012, 2012—2013) [4] .

The producer of the telecast is the Ideas Space company, the director Vasily Pichul previously participated in the creation of the program “ Dolls ” [5] [6] .

After the program was closed in 2014, a dispute arose between the broadcaster of the program (“First Channel”) and its producer (Studio “Ideas Space”) because of the application to the contract for its production: according to this application, the producer undertook to provide the broadcaster with 17 releases of the fourth season personality. The respondent had to provide 5 transfers in the first quarter of 2013, 4 more - in the second. The producer of these obligations to the broadcaster did not fulfill - only three releases of the program were presented, the third with a long delay in terms and non-compliance with the terms of the agreement on the technical parameters of the transfer: the studio refused to provide it in HD format. According to the court’s decision, the “Space of Ideas” studio was supposed to pay 54 million rubles to the First Channel [7] .

Criticism

The program caused a strong reaction in the Russian and foreign press and blogosphere [16] [17] . Of particular interest was the 4th episode, which was aired as part of the New Year program on Channel One soon after the chiming clock . In it, for the first time since the beginning of the presidency of President Vladimir Putin , an animated caricature of himself and President Dmitry Medvedev was shown on state television. According to the scriptwriter of the program “Dolls” Viktor Shenderovich : “This is not a parody of the“ Dolls ”, it is a simulation of satire ” [18] .

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov , seeing a program on television broadcasting with the participation of his virtual copy, later admitted that he liked the character: “This is funny, although“ Dolls ”were better” [19] .

Telekritik Slava Taroschina responded about the premiere of the program as follows:

By the end of 2009, the “Cartoon of Personality” project was launched. And immediately, from the first issue, it became clear: the attempt failed. The three-dimensional animation itself is a miracle as good. Everything else is below the level of conversation. There is not only a composition, but also an idea about it. Plots come on each other's heels, there are no recognizable characters, sharp satire is out of the question, humor is worse than Petrosyan’s ( Kandelaki asks Volochkov : “Have you heard about sarcasm?” - “Yes.” - “Where are you from?” - “I tested him ".) Parodies of Pugachev with Galkin are wicked and unfunny to indecency ... [20]

When analyzing the program, it was repeatedly noted that, unlike the “Dolls” program, actual problems of the state and Russian policy itself were practically not played up in the “Mult of the Personality” program, as the main emphasis was placed on pop stars and politicians from other countries of the world [21] - in particular, the United States , Belarus , Ukraine and Georgia [22] .
