Unsinked insect [1] ( lat. Numenes disparilis ) is a butterfly from the insect family. The only representative of the oligotypic tropical genus in the fauna of Russia.

Description
The wingspan of males is 42 - 46 mm, females of 50 - 55 mm. Pronounced sexual dimorphism. The color of the wings of males is velvety black, with an admixture of brown scales. Fore wings with outlined white veins and with a wide white or yellowish stripe obliquely crossing the wing from the middle of the costal margin to the posterior corner. The hind wings are cut by light brown veins, with a fuzzy white spot in the middle. The female looks like a butterfly from the Bear family. The wings are more elongated than the male. Fore wings with yellow veins, and with three broad white-yellow stripes - straight at the base of the wing, external along the outer edge and oblique strip, intersecting the wing from the basal third of the costal margin to the posterior corner. Hind wings of females are orange-yellow, with large black spots along the outer edge, sometimes merging into a band.
Range
Western and central China , the Korean Peninsula , Japan . In Russia it is found only in the Primorsky Territory, described from the vicinity of Vladivostok and from Askold Island.
Habitats
It is found in mixed coniferous-broad-leaved forests, mixed black-fir-broad-leaved forests on mountain slopes. In the northern regions, sometimes in the valley pine forests. Prefers multi-tiered forest areas with undergrowth from various shrubs.
Flight Time
Summer in the second half of July-August. Females are active at night and fly into the light, males fly during the day under the forest canopy.
Reproduction
Eggs hibernate. Caterpillars are found from the second half of June until the end of July. They feed on the hornbeam ( Carpinus cordata ) , on the Manchurian hazel ( Corylus mandshurica ) . Pupulate in a loose silky cocoon on the leaves of a fodder plant. Pupa stage 10-12 days.
Strength
Quantitative surveys were not carried out. The species is represented by a small number of local populations.
Security Notes
It is listed in the Red Book of Russia (I category - endangered species). It is protected in the reserves Kedrovaya Pad, Lazovsky and Ussuri.
