Kibbutz Metzer has 200 members and 100 temporary residents, it was founded in 1953 by repatriates from Argentina, belonging to the Hashomer Hazair Youth Movement, founded by the MAPAM party (later it joined the Meretz party) [1] . Kibbutz is located in close proximity to the green line near the city of Hadera .
Terrorist attack
On November 10, two Arab terrorists broke into a kibbutz in a car [2] . At first, Sirhan shot Tirza Damari, who was walking with her friend [3] on the street, after which Yitzhak Dori, the secretary of the kibbutz, was summoned by telephone to the scene of the attack. Then, in Ohayon’s house, in the children's bedroom, Sirhan shot dead two young children Matan and Noam and their mother Revital, who was trying to protect her children [5] .
The terrorist group “ Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades ” claimed responsibility for the attack [6] . A published statement by Al-Aqsa Martyrs emphasized that "the operation in the Metzer settlement is consistent with Fatah’s general policy, which sees the need to defeat Israeli targets anywhere, on both sides of the green line [7] .

Consequences
According to a statement released by the Israeli army press service, 94% of the poll conducted on the official website of the Fatah movement immediately after the attack, including both supporters of Islamic Jihad and Hamas , welcomed the attack in Kibbutz Metzer [8] .
Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat said a commission would be formed to investigate the circumstances of the incident. The Palestinian Authority Information Minister called the incident a crime [9] .
Al-Hayat El-Jadida, the official newspaper of the United Arab Emirates, titled its message of the attack as follows: “Five Israelis died in the attack on the Metzer settlement.” According to The Jerusalem Post , the official website of the Fatah organization, led by Arafat, posted a statement from the El-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade stating:
We take responsibility for the bold and effective operation in the settlement of Metzer, which led to the death and injury of several Zionist colonialists [10] .
Despite the terrorist attack, the Israeli kibbutz movement TAKAM issued a statement saying that it "continues to fight for peace with the Palestinian people." The movement "considers the kibbutz Metser a living example of successful coexistence between the Arabs of the PA and the Israelis, and hopes that their ties will only be strengthened in the future." “We still have good relations (with the Arabs),” said Doron Lieber, a member of the agricultural community in an interview with the Voice of Israel radio station [11] .
On October 4, 2003, one of the terrorists, Sirhan Sirhan, who turned out to be a relative of Sirhan B. Sirhan , who killed Senator R. Kennedy in 1968 [12] , and later transferred to the Islamic Jihad, was liquidated by the IDF special unit. A 9-year-old Palestinian child also died in a shootout during the elimination of the terrorist [13] [14] [15] .
On November 14, 2003, under the auspices of the Palestinian Authority in Tul Karem , a large rally was organized to commemorate [14] [16] [17] :
- “The governor of Tul-Karma, Isaddin Al-Sharif, speaking on behalf of Yasser Arafat, delivered a speech to the crowd in which he tirelessly praised the killer of Sirhan Sirhan and called him a“ fighter and martyr . ” He also conveyed the condolences of Arafat and the PA leadership to the “hero” family. ”
A spokeswoman for the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade vowed to continue the fight against Israel “until the occupation is completely stopped” in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip. He called Sirhan "a hero who infiltrated the Zionist settlement of Metzer." Basam Miral, the head of Fatah in Tul Karma, also praised the "sacrifice of Sirhan and his contribution" to the Palestinian cause, stressing that the Arabs will continue the struggle "until the complete liberation of their homeland" [14] [17] .
Later, the bodies of two Palestinians who helped the Israelis find and eliminate Sirhan and were killed by the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades and / or Islamic Jihad were shown to residents in the central square of the Tul Karem refugee camp. The corpses were accompanied by a video demonstrating this act of retaliation and driven out by the power of repentance.
- “The reaction of the Palestinian authorities to this flagrant lawlessness is curious. Palestinian Authority officials in Judea and Samaria stated that, in principle, they did not approve of such lynching, but their ability to prevent such cases was “limited by the Israeli occupation” ” [18] .
The second terrorist, Israeli Arab Ahmed Kabaa, was convicted of participating in a terrorist attack in August 2004 [19] .
