Biography

Born into a peasant family. He graduated from 8 classes, worked as a statistician in the regional department.

Since August 24, 1942 he has been in the ranks of the Soviet Army. In October 1942 he joined the Komsomol. He got to the front in 1943. He served as commander of the machine gun crew of the 574th Infantry Regiment of the 121st Infantry Division .

In July 1943, Zinov's machine gun crew repelled several enemy attacks, destroyed 74 enemy soldiers, ensuring the advancement of Soviet units. On August 29, 1943, with the breakthrough of the enemy’s defense in the area of ​​the town of Glukhov, Sumy Region , he calculated to destroy a large group of enemy soldiers.

On October 3, 1943, during a battle on a bridgehead on the right bank of the Dnieper in the vicinity of the village of Yasnogorodka in the Kiev region, Sergeant Zinov was wounded, but he did not leave the battlefield, holding his position until reinforcements arrived, and destroyed more than 20 enemy soldiers.

Later he took part in the liberation of Ukraine, Poland, fought in Germany. He was twice wounded. The war ended in Prague.

After the war, the rank of senior lieutenant went into reserve in October 1955. For four years he was the chairman of the DOSAAF district committee in the city of Dolina in the Ivano-Frankivsk region , then he worked at the car factory in Gorky, and later worked in the militarized guard at one of the enterprises in the city of Togliatti .

Moved to Saransk .
