In 2014, Expert RA agency included the university in the list of the best higher education institutions of the Commonwealth of Independent States , where it was assigned a rating class β€œD” [2] . In 2016, the European Scientific and Industrial Chamber ARES-2016 assigned Omsk Medical University a rating of BB + (reliable quality of teaching and the demand for graduates in the labor market), with which it took 66th place in the ranking of universities with European standards, thus entering the top ten Russian medical universities and ahead of Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk and other universities of this profile [3] .

Content

History

It was created in 1920 as a medical (medical) department at the Siberian Veterinary and Zootechnical Institute. One of the founders was V.E. Klyachkin .

In 1921, at the initiative of the doctor of medicine, authorized by the People’s Commissariat of Healthcare for Siberia P.N. Obrosov , the department was transformed into an independent West Siberian State Medical Institute.

In 1931, a pediatric faculty was established. At the origins of its creation was Professor O. D. Sokolova-Ponomareva.

In 1938, the Sanitary and Hygienic Faculty was created (renamed in 1989 as the Medical and Preventive Faculty).

The Dental Faculty was opened in 1957.

In 1971 he was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor [4] .

The youngest faculty is the pharmaceutical, opened in 2002.

Until March 2015, it was an academy, currently a university.
