Located in the valley of Beit Shean, 10 km south of Beit Shean , west of the r. Jordan and the border between Israel and Jordan. Included in the regional council of Beit Shean.

Population
According to the Central Statistical Bureau of Israel , the population at the beginning of 2018 was 801 people [1] .
Geography
Tirat-Zvi is located 220 m below sea level.
On June 21, 1942, the highest temperature ever recorded in Asia was recorded - plus 53.9 ºС [2] .
History
Kibbutz was founded on June 30, 1937. The founders of the settlement were repatriate Jews from Poland, Romania and Germany. The settler pioneers belonged to the Kwutz Shahal and Kvutz Gudges groups of the settlement movement. The settlement was named after Rabbi Zvi-Hirsch Kalischer , one of the founders of the Zionist movement and the head of the movement Hoveveyvey-Zion [3] . The name translates as Zvi Fortress .
On February 28, 1938, the kibbutz was attacked by an Arab gang. The attack was repelled by defenders of a settlement with numerous casualties on both sides [3] .
On February 20, 1948, during the War of Independence [4], the Arab battalion attacked the settlement. The attack was repulsed, 60 attackers were killed, and one of the kibbutz defenders was also killed.
Economy
In the kibbutz there is a TIV meat processing plant, which sells its products not only in Israel, but also abroad.
Tirat-Zvi is the largest producer of dates in Israel, about 18 thousand date palms ( finger dates) are grown here [5] .
Also implements the famous plant lulav for Sukkot . The joint development of scientists from the Volcani Institute and specialists from Tirat-Zvi allowed to increase the shelf life of palm leaves up to several months, which allowed to keep young palm leaves collected in spring for the Sukkoth festival, which takes place in the autumn. In 2009, 70,000 palm leaf lulavs were supplied from Tirat-Zvi for the holiday of Sukkot [5] .
