Content
History
In May 1937, by decision of the Arts Department of the Vinnitsa Oblast Executive Committee, the regional state council was reorganized into a regional philharmonic society. In October of the same 1937, the Philharmonic organized a tour of the symphony orchestra in Vinnitsa, performances by leading artists O. Petrusenko , M. Grishko , Z. Gaidai , D. Oistrakh .
During the Great Patriotic War, many philharmonic artists became part of the front concert brigades, and in 1944, after the region was liberated from Nazi invaders, the regional philharmonic society resumed its concert activity.
Composition
Today, the Philharmonic employs more than 100 artists, annually hosts about 600 concerts.
The creative process of the regional philharmonic is ensured by concert groups, which include highly qualified artists and individual performers:
- Song and Dance Ensemble "Podillia" artistic director and chief choreographer Honored Artist of Ukraine Anatoly Kondyuk, chief choirmaster honored artist of Ukraine Viktor Volkov, head of the orchestra Vladimir Pirog;
- Arkata Chamber Orchestra art director and conductor Honored Artist of Ukraine Georgy Kurkov;
- Circus circus group for children "Harlequin" , leader Valery Voitenko;
- Musical lecture hall for students of comprehensive schools in Vinnitsa, head of the lecturer-musicologist Tatyana Snezhko;
- Duet composed of Honored Artists of Ukraine Lyubov and Victor Anisimov;
- Vocalists - People's Artist of Ukraine Victoria Petrushenko (soprano), Honored Artists of Ukraine Irina Shvets (soprano), Vasily Korol (tenor), Natalya Veklenko (soprano), Maria Chervoniy (mezzo-soprano);
- Instrumental soloists - Honored Artist of Ukraine Georgy Kurkov, Honored Artist of Ukraine Galina Guseva (violin), Maxim Grinchenko (violin), Igor Kurkov (oboe), Vitaliy Kozitsky (button accordion);
- Artists of the musical lecture hall - Yuri Kharchenko, Vasily Zhurbenko, Yaroslav Fyskov, Yuri Kshivak, Ivan Kolomiyets.

International Festival of Classical Music named after P.I. Tchaikovsky and N.F. von Meck has been held by the Vinnitsa Regional Philharmonic Society since May 1993.
