Alexander Ottovich Gadd ( February 12 (24), 1875 , Kronstadt - December 26, 1960 , Helsinki ) - Russian Rear Admiral . Biography

Service after the February Revolution of 1917

In July 1918, Admiral Andrei Pokrovsky ordered the fleet to form a brigade of sea minesweepers in Odessa and appointed her commander of Captain First Rank A. Gadd. It consisted of three divisions: the first was commanded by Lieutenant Opanasenko, the second was Lieutenant Krivitsky, and the third was Senior Lieutenant Blagoveshchensky .

Upon the Germans returning the ships of the Black Sea Fleet, on November 12, 1918, Hetman's order was announced on the approval of the fleet’s combat strength, as well as on the recruitment of officers and sailors.

November 14, 1918 Admiral Andrey Pokrovsky was appointed Minister of Maritime Affairs of the Ukrainian State, his deputies were: Rear Admiral Nikolai Maximov in Odessa and Alexander Gadd in Kiev.

After the anti-Hetman uprising, the Directorate moved to Sevastopol and transferred to the service of the FYUR.

In 1920 he emigrated to Constantinople . Moves to Varna, then to Paris. Member of the Paris cabin company (1924-1930).

Last years he lived in Helsinki, where he died on December 26, 1960 .
