ATR ( French: Avions de Transport Régional , Italian: Aerei da Trasporto Regionale , pronounced in Russian: “a-te-er”) - French - Italian manufacturer of aviation equipment, created in 1981 by Aérospatiale (now EADS , France) and Aeritalia (now Alenia Aeronautica , Italy). It produces turboprop regional passenger aircraft ATR 42 and ATR 72 .

Activities
Alenia Aeronautica factories in Naples produce the aircraft fuselage and plumage elements. The wing of the aircraft is made by the EADS division in Bordeaux . Final assembly is carried out in Toulouse , France. As of the beginning of 2018, the company sold about 1,700 aircraft to more than 200 operators. [2]
The company is a world leader in the production of regional turboprop aircraft (from 40 to 74 seats). Various engines were installed on the plane. The six blades that they are equipped with help reduce vibration and noise.
There are 7 major aviation accidents in this type of aircraft, beginning in 1994, caused by various reasons. The last of them occurred in Iran in 2018.
