Biography

Colin Morgan was born on January 1, 1986 in Armagh ( Northern Ireland ) in the family of Bernard and Bernadeth Morgan. Parents raised Colin and his elder brother Nile in the Roman Catholic faith [2] . Colin received his primary and secondary education at Saints and Scholars Primary School and Dungannon Integrated College (ICD) in Dungannon ( Dungannon and South Tyrone ) [3] . In the third year of training, Colin won the Denis Rooney Cup (Denis Rooney Associates Cup Award) as the best student of the year. After graduating from Integrated College, he entered Belfast College (Belfast Metropolitan College of Further Education), which he graduated from in 2004 with a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts.

After college, Colin continued his studies at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow , where he studied for another 3 years.

In November 2010, at Belfast Metropolitan College, Colin was given an Award of Distinction for his contribution to art [4] .

In 2007, Morgan played the role of Esteban on the stage of the old London Old Vic theater in an adapted version of Everything about My Mother by Pedro Almodovar and received the lead role in the staging of Vernon Lord Little Little, BBC Pierre .

From 2008 to 2012, he played the main role in the television series Merlin , for which he received the National Television Awards .

After “Merlin,” Colin Morgan starred in a number of films and television series, and in 2015 received the lead role in the TV series “The Living and the Dead . ”

Career

On October 27, 2002 at the age of 16, Morgan Colin was auditioned for the music program “You're A Star”. The winner had to sign a contract with a record company, as well as represent Ireland in 2003 at the Eurovision Song Contest. Colin did not audition.

Morgan played many roles in television programs such as The Kathryn Tate Show in 2007, Doctor Who (Midnight) episode in 2008, before getting the role of Merlin in the TV series of the same name (2008).

In March 2009, Colin took part in Kim Newman 's radio show “The Cries of Babies” on BBC Radio 4 .

In the feature film “The Island,” based on the novel of the same name by Jane Roger and released on screens in 2011, Morgan Colin played the lead role [5] .
