Biography

Born in the family of the head of the Moscow archers, Nikita Vasilievich Lopukhin (d. In 1615) [1] . He began his service at the sovereign's court as a tenant . In 1644 he was granted the Moscow nobles; in 1645 - 1647 he was in the province of Likhvin , then until 1669 he served in the heads of Moscow archers ; the landowner of the Meshchovsky and Kurmysh districts (in 1632 he owned the estate of his father - 450 people in the Meshchovsky district, in 1676 he was given a letter to Kurmysh to own the estate).

In 1655, at the head of his order, under the leadership of the governor I.V. Alferyev, he defended Mogilev from the troops of the great Lithuanian hetman Janusz Radziwill . During one of the sorties, on February 6 , he captured the banner of the Lithuanian full hetman Vincent Gonsevsky . Having shown amazing resilience, the defenders of Mogilev forced Radziwill to lift the siege from the city and retreat. For his courage, Lopukhin was granted the honorary rank of colonel . From the same year he served in the Ambassadorial order . In 1657 he headed the embassy in Poland [2] . In 1659, he was sent to Putivl as a colonel and streltsy head. A participant in the Battle of Konotop in 1659 [3] , after which he was bestowed with a silver bucket, forty sables and 600 yefimki [4] , as well as additions to local and monetary salaries [5] . In 1662, "according to the decree of the great Sovereign, after the action he went for images to the Forerunner together with the roundabout Danila Stepanovich Veliko-Gagin."

In 1664, the order of Abraham Lopukhin, together with the Cossacks of the Kiev Regiment, successfully defended Glukhov fortress from Polish troops . In 1665, Lopukhin inspected and described the palace grounds in Arzamas and Alator counties, and fishing in Murom district. A participant in the punitive expedition of 1666 to the region of Suzdal and Nizhny Novgorod against schismatics - followers of the " Kapitonovsky heresy " [6] . In 1667 - 1668, with his order in the "lower service" in Astrakhan .

He was dismissed from the Streltsy colonels in 1669 . In April 1670 he was appointed head of the Order of the Tsaritsyna workshop of the chamber , which he directed until 1676 . During the marriage of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich with Natalya Kirillovna Naryshkina , being the Tsarina’s butler , Lopukhin occupied an honorable place for the Queen’s supplier. In 1672 , on the occasion of the birth of the heir , he was granted the Duma nobles [7] .

Subsequently, he headed the Order of the Grand Palace . Participated in the embassy in Constantinople. On the occasion of the baptism of Tsarevich Pyotr Alekseevich, he sat with Tsarina Natalya Kirillovna at the supplier.

In 1682, under Tsar Fyodor Alekseevich, he participated in the work of the Zemsky Sobor and the third of the Duma nobles put his signature on “The Council Act on the resignation of fatherly cases and parochialism ” [8] .

In Moscow, he lived in the White City at the Yauz Gate in the parish of the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity in Khokhlakh .

Before his death, he took tonsure and a schema under the name Alexander. Buried in the Trinity-Sergius Lavra .
