Psalms 145-150 are the final psalms from the book Psalms (146-150 in the Masoretic numbering , since the 146th and 147th psalms in the Hebrew text of the Bible are one psalm). All these psalms are labeled “ hallelujah ” ( Heb. הַלְלוּ יָהּ ). In content, these psalms are laudatory songs to God and constitute the conclusion of the entire Psalms as a whole.
According to Jewish tradition, the author of these psalms is King David . According to Christian interpreters, the psalms were written much later, after the return of the Jews from Babylonian captivity , during the time of Ezra and Nehemiah (5th century BC).
