Appearance

Small lizard, the length of its body does not exceed 8 cm, weight - 7 g. A small additional shield is usually located between the prefrontal plates. Upper-tail scales with weak ribs. Top yellowish, olive or brownish gray. The middle part of the back without spots and stripes. On the sides of the ridge are longitudinal rows of white or greenish rounded spots with black gaps between them.

Lifestyle

Inhabits semi-desert , dry foothills and mountains, at an altitude of up to 1800 m. Active during the day. Spring appears in March - April. Leaves for the winter in October. It feeds on beetles, orthopterans, ants and caterpillars. Laying 3–7 eggs 1.3–1.5 cm long in May.

Spread

It is distributed in the south of Armenia and Azerbaijan, in the north-east of Turkey, in the north of Iran and in the south of Turkmenistan.
