Black-eyed foot-and-mouth disease [1] ( lat. Eremias nigrocellata ) is a species of lizards from the genus Lizard .

Appearance
Small lizard, body length reaches 8 cm. The height of the intermaxillary scute is less than its width. The infraorbital flaps do not touch the edge of the mouth. Frontal shield with pronounced longitudinal groove. The fourth toe of the hind foot from below is covered with two rows of subdigital plates. Top gray. Along the body are longitudinal rows of light gray or white spots framed by black circles. On the ridge, these "eyes" are weakly expressed or completely absent. In young people, the ocular pattern is more pronounced.
Lifestyle
It lives in clay and gravel deserts , sometimes penetrates the lower parts of the foothills. In the sandy deserts is absent. Shelters - rodent burrows or own minks up to 40 cm long. Active since February, sometimes, on sunny days, also appears in winter. It feeds in the spring in the afternoon, in the summer in the morning or in the evening. It feeds mainly on ants and bugs , but also eats cicadas , termites , bedbugs , caterpillars , arachnids . In the clutch there are 5-6 eggs 1.4-1.5 cm long. During the season, the clutch is repeated 2-3 times. Young appear from May. The length of newborns is 2.7-3.2 cm.
Distribution
Black-eyed foot -and- mouth disease is widespread in southeastern Turkmenistan , southern Uzbekistan , northeastern Iran and northern Afghanistan .
Security
Black-eyed foot and mouth disease is included in the Red Books of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
