Tahara ( Japanese 田原 市 Tahara-si ) is a city in Japan located in the central part of Aichi Prefecture on the Atsumi Peninsula. It was founded on August 20, 2003 by the merger of the villages of Harada and Akabane of Atsumi county. On October 1, 2005, the city was swallowed by the village of Atsumi . Tahara is the center of the food and cement industries. Here is the main Lexus factory.
